“This isn’t exactly how I thought it would end,” thought Keeley League, as the lifeblood drained from the wound in her side. Turning her head West, she thought for a minute that she could see her home, the Briarwood, reflected in the setting of the sun. “No,” she answered herself, “This is indeed how I thought it would end.” She turned her head to the East. Through the sweat pouring down into her eyes, burning them and blurring them, she could only see a black shoe. Recognizing the shoe, she looked up at her lover. Her eyes cleared long enough for her to pierce his soul with them. Keeley lifted her blood-soaked hand from her side. Holding it into his face, she said “For you, my love.” It was then that Keeley League breathed her last breath.
